The Mediterranean Film Institute has reached an agreement of partnership with the Greek Film Center (GFC) and the Greek State TV (ERT), two of Greece's most important organisations of the audiovisual sector. GFC and ERT will contribute financially to the program, while co-operation will also extend to training issues, with regard to screenplays of projects that are funded by the two partner organisations.
The Greek Film Center is the main film development and production institution in Greece. It supports the development and improvement of Greek films and of the film production environment in the country, goals that are also included in MFI's educational agenda.
ERT also plays an integral part in the growth of the local film industry. It has a steady policy of supporting Greek films, either as a financing co-producer or as a distributor, by purchasing and screening finished films. Furthermore, ERT co-operates with the GFC in common production programs.
In past years, many Greek MFI projects went on to be funded by the GFC and/or ERT. Now, the so far unofficial correlation among the three parties will take the form of an active relationship. |
